With Monica and Nicky up in The Tundra (Portland), Simone and I decided to have ourselves a day. We began, as one should, at Sea World.
First we hit the penguins and the sharks. The Shark Encounter is straight up freaky. This prehistoric humpback shark was particularly terrifying.
We then went over to the Seal and Sea Lion show. It was hilarious, as usual. Those beasts will do just about anything for a fish.
Is there any fate in life worse than being a pre-Seal and Sea Lion show mime? I think not.
The usual antics...
WHAT IS GOING ON HERE? Apparently the trainers are using new methods. Hide the smelt?
We next went over to the Dolphin show. It was awesome, but there was too much glare to get really good pics.
Next up was lunch, the feeding of the Seals/Seagulls, and the petting of...gulp...bat rays. Yuk. I'm soooo out.
After purchasing this attractive hat (please ensure Nicky he has one), we went over to the Shamu show. It was KILLER (pun clearly intended).
After all that, we went up to Point Loma so Simone could check another item off of her list of "The things to see before you turn 12". A light house. It was cold and windy up there so we didn't stay too long.
All in all a great Daddy/Daughter adventure.
